Six months away from work felt like hitting pause on one life and diving headfirst into another. It wasn’t all sleepless nights and spit-up, yeah, there was some of that—but it was also a time to reconnect with what matters.
I learned how to be a dad, tackled projects I’d been putting off for years, and even found time to nerd out, building a media server and repurposing old tech. This time wasn’t just about surviving; it was about rethinking how I spend my days, what success really means, and how to build something better—for me, my family, and even my home.
Me writing this and putting this website together marks the end of the leave and all of the thoughts I have had leading up until now. I had a great time being able to re-balance, think about the future, and really decide what I want .
Now I want to remember it, in this archive of information. So that when I remember each year that I pay for this site, that there is something important here that I want to remember forever. For myself, and for Miles who has brought on so much change.
